“ölgrube”

© Insane Arts 2010.

The year is 2014, the small german mining company “ölgrube” (which English translation is “oil mine”) in the far south of Antarctica, was contacted yesterday with a news alert which stated the strongest blizzard in over 250 years is going to hit southern Antarctica, they were to dock all mining gear and vehicles and issue a Full scale Red Alert, The blizzard hit over 2 and a half hours before it was planned, The damage that it caused was catastrophic, Half of the mining facility was destroyed, But it uncovered something else, Something that was listed as “Kein Zugang” (English translation meaning “No Access”) They we’re mining something else, Something more than oil, My name is Mark Sampson, Im part of the 17B recon squad, ive been sent in to find any survivors, and figure out what it was they where hiding.

Features

I've noticed that majority of games developed using FPSC are either zombie survival, or linear shooters (exception to some high quality games that have been built!, im sure you can figure out which games im talking about:-Y) so allthough very early WIP, i'm trying to push the engine to its limits and make Olgrube as open-ended as i possibly can (taking into consideration the engine limitations)

Hi-Res Graphics (Dynamic Shadows)
Iron-sights
Gas mask/various other huds
Rag-doll (still needs work)
Custom Sound-effect (Ambient music etc)
Full open-world game play!
and Many MANY more

Release Date!
Still unsure of when it will be finished guys! im about 10% done!

Interesting. Good use of lightning and a good idea behind the game.
Will for sure follow this one.

Off-topic, when I saw the name of the thread I tought it said Ölgubbe, which in Swedish means something like beerman

Oil Mine for a game title would be really boring, but when written in German it becomes really cool for non-German speakers
