Can a Mod lock this thread now? I'm not joking. This thread is pointlessly dumb. I'm sick of seeing it on Geek Culture. If you want to talk about this stuff, go hop on the IRC channel, which needs revitalizing anyway.

I'm not calling anyone here dumb, I'm just saying it's time to let this one die guys. It's getting REALLY FRICKING OLD NOW.

Yes this thread is pointless but it's not hurting anyone is it? It's not like we're blatantly insulting each other or something in this thread, it's just a game.

... You posted the EXACT SAME post in the posting competition. WHy are you trying to get all the best threads locked? If I were a mod, I would n00b slap you for trolling. There is no valid reason to lock this thread, or the posting competition. I think you're just trying to tick people off.

Um what are you smoking? The point he was trying to make was that these thread had no point at all and basically were spam, which is true, especially for the "posting competition" thread. And to that point I do agree with him, the posting competition should be locked, this probably should be locked as well but it's been going on for so long I doubt it will.

What was the point of using "u" instead of "you"? It saved a few milliseconds of your time at most.
And I don't have mailback, and I don't know what it is, and I'm not saying that this thread isn't fun, I'm just saying that this thread is, as he said, pointless and unnecessary for the forum and logically should probably be locked.
But it's just a small forum game after all.

I am not smoking anthing, though it appears that you are smoking EVERYTHING. These threads have more of a point than many of the other threads on geek culture, and more of a point than a few of the threads on the other boards. They are not spam, beacause they all are related to the topic at hand. The posting competition is a fun game to see who can get a post of a certain number. There IS a point. Even if what you are saying is true, why should they be locked? If you lock these threads, then the "Spam" they contain will just pour out onto the rest of the board, spawing a hundred different topics full of spam. This way, its all contained to one or two threads. If you lock those threads, the GC board will surely dissolve into pure, unfiltered crap.

Oh god, this is what always seems to happen on this forum. Most people are just generaly useful, and agree or disagree with points. But then there are those like you, who as soon as somethings been said which they disagree with, but cant really be disproven, or that individual lacks the knowlage to respond with a valid argument, says c*ap like that.

Lets try not to start a flame war here. Lets just return to the game. If the mods lock it, they lock it. If they don't, they don't. Either way, none of us really have any control over that.

Did you even read the rest of my post? I suppose you didn't, since I did agree and disagree to some points and did argue the entire things, I just pointed out that using incorrect grammar since it presumably "saves you time" is idiotic since it only saves a few milli seconds if anything and makes you look like a fool.

And when did I lack the knowledge to respond with a valid argument? Do you just read the first 10 letters of each and every post and judge from that? Wow.

Yes i did read it all.

- First you say it should not be locked, because its not causing any harm.

Quote: "And to that point I do agree with him, the posting competition should be locked, this probably should be locked as well but it's been going on for so long I doubt it will."
- Then u say it should.

Now Thats an error... its called.... contradiction.

No I said it technically should, not that I wanted it to, it's two completely different things.

Quote: "Now Thats an error... its called.... contradiction.

No? Read the above.

Quote: "-Who gives a s**t????????"

I do.

Quote: "Oh no its the end of the world u instead of you. Whatever shall i do."

Even though I didn't fully understand what this sentence means I think that you're going a bit over the top on this one, I was just saying that there wasn't a point in saying "u" instead of "you" since it barely saves any time at all, and you get all angry and stuff.

Anyways, to keep this from being locked I'll continue.

- Well to me it seemed like the same thing. Maybe you should have said "In theory..." or "Technicly..." to make it more obvious.

- Well im sorry but if it really affects you, then your very very sad. Its the most rediculous thing ever.

- Im going "over the top", because i find it highly annoying. Its happend to me on multiple occasions on this forum. I just make a small point, then someone comes along with something completely irrelivant just as you did.

Anyway im not arguing about this, ur probably just some american, and as with most, cannot take being wrong, especialy when its a european who brings up the matter. . Idk just speculation.

Yes, 100% American, only that I live in Sweden... And have never even been near an American... Errm... Okay maybe not that american. Oh and that's sort of mean against Americans don't you think? Although I tend to agree with it... But still.

The guys who needs to be noob slapped.

I mean really, flame Americans much?
Here is your bridge and your club, sir. You are now an official troll.
Seriously, that is so stereotypical. Yes, a lot of Americans can be stubborn and stupid and rude and offensive, but so can anyone else from any other country. Unless I'm mistaken, there are rude, stubborn, offensive people in other countries, too.
My understanding is that other countries perceive us as pig-headed, stubborn, and never admitting we're wrong because of our foreign policy and the fact that we're at war in Iraq. This is our government, not our entire population. I, personally, disagree with most of what President Bush has done. (I will NOT start bashing bush or anything, though. That's against the AUP.)
I could easily say that you're just some French guy who, as with most Frenchmen, hates America, eats baguettes with cheese and snails, drinks wine, has a curly mustache, wears a beret, and has a really thick accent.
Is that likely to be true? No, but that would not make it any less stereotypical or offensive. I know that most French people aren't really like that, so I would never really say such a thing.

My point is, that saying "you're just some American, who blah blah blah" or "you're just some German guy, and you blah blah blah" or "You're just some dude from England, therefore you do blah blah blah" only shows your own ignorance and a total lack of understanding. Buying into stereotypes only makes YOU look bad.
For the record, I AM American, and I DO admit when I am wrong.

Ok im sorry, but the reason americans are perceived like this is because a lot of them all think that america is so superiour compared to the rest of the world. Ive been to america 3 times, and you would not beleive the amount of people who seem to think america is the Whole world. I understand that not every american is completely ileterate like that. But its not surprising tho as the US education system is one of the worst, along with its healthcare system.

Also americans have it in their head that they invented everything. When thats wrong, the inventions come from other nations, mostly europe, and then improved so the product can be mass produced and sold for a profit. For example... cars. Karl Friedrich Benz, who was GERMAN invented the first petrol/gasoline powered car. But you americans all think it was you because of the ford model T. Its bullcrap, sorry but it is. I mean i like the ford mustang... that is one nice beasty car... but most other american cars just seem like old bangers and runabouts compared to the exotic cars of europe.

One final thing, do you really thing the "America is fat" thing is a stereotype? Yes it is, but its infact a true one. Everytime i go over to america, i come back and its so noticeable how everyone in england is so much healthier.

Btw im not French, im English.

Its true, the majority of America does think we're the best. I believe we are the best in certain aspects, while other countries beat us in other aspects. I know, that a lot of Americans think we're all that matters, but those people are ignorant. Unfortunately, they are the general majority. The American Education system is pretty bad, I can't argue that. And our Health care system is pretty much in the toilet, too. Many Americans DO think that Ford invented the car, which is untrue. What Mr. Ford did was invent the Model T, or the "Tin Lizzy" as it was called. The Model T was the first affordable, efficient, durable car of its time. Back then, only rich people had cars, Ford changed that. THAT is why most people think he invented the car.
Sad to say, YES, America is FAT. I am lucky enough to be in shape, but we Americans have it so good and so easy, we get lazy, take things for granted, and become obese. Obesity is actually one of our nation's biggest health care problems.
In our defense, I think that if other countries had it as easy as we do, (for the most part) they would also be obese. We Americans have it to the point where, we don't even have to leave our houses. we can have anything and everything we need delivered, we can work out of our homes on the computer, and if we absolutely HAVE to get up and go out, we take a car everywhere. I wish it weren't true, but America IS fat.
But, if you could get everything you wanted delivered, and didn't have to do any real work, would you? If you had the chance to make money sitting on your rump all day, would you take it? I think most anyone would.

If the good lord had intended us to go outside or have a social life, he wouldn't have invented the internet.

@Omega gamer 89 - Thank you!! An american who has a bit of common sence, and knows the facts!

Quote: "But, if you could get everything you wanted delivered, and didn't have to do any real work, would you? If you had the chance to make money sitting on your rump all day, would you take it? I think most anyone would."

Personaly im a very active person, i goto the gym every day after work, so i would not like that lifestyle. But yes most other people probably would. I just would feel like i was wasting my life sitting around indoors, doing nothing physical.

However, i do have to ask, what makes you think Americans have it any easier than english? We can drive anywhere, we can work from home, we can get anything delivered.

The one thing i think america does well on, is profits. Theres alot more money to be made in america, mainly because of the larger population.

I think america will become a much better place once George bush and his republican freinds are no longer presedent. All they care about is money. I mean, its pretty obvious 9/11 was a inside job, its only purpose was to motivate the people to vote for the Iraq war act... Which is good for the federal reserve and in turn George Bush is better off. If 9/11 didnt happen, what reason would there be for the war? Would you not agree?

This thread has carried nothing constructive for a few days now, and is just starting to fill with flames, racial stereotyping and politics.

I'm locking this thread for now while I discuss it with the other mods - it may or may not get unlocked later.
