Because FPSC means First Person Shooter Creator I think The Game Creators will never manage to make Third person shooter patch.

What I did was a cheat because FPSC can't do it and I just set the Conker as player.

You just need to have a mod called Fenix mod 1.1 , it's all.

When you set body.FPI as any entity then you'll see somethink like the first pic and when you set Third Person.FPI you'll see the second one.

I don't want to mod my fpsc, because I don'e want to down grade from 1.18.001. I was wondering if it was possible with the stock commands.

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.

Nope, it's impossible

What if we were to make a character (without arms and legs) which is immune, and follows the player, set to exact player x y & z and faces the same way the player does?

Its possible, just difficult because you're gonna need to hard-code the source to get fenix mod integrated to the stock FPSC

@da2020:

First of all, modifying teh source at all defeats the purpose of the question, which was whether it was possible with STOCK FPSC.

Secondly, without the source code to fenix mod you're going to have an even more impossible time integrating it yourelf.

I had made "legs" available in RPG Mod. However, it is not real pretty at times. First of all you have to change the body texture of the entity you want to make legs for because as you notice in the image you will see two arms one with a weapon in the left hand pointing downwards. If you have the player carrying a weapon then all of a sudden you have a player with 4 arms.

The next issue is one that cannot be fixed. At least I tried. Legs will not move properly if the human player is using a joystick. The feet just slide around and they do not walk appropriately. This was solved with the keyboard movement keys in all the mods including my own I believe.

Anyway, this cannot be done with vanilla engine.

I have scanned the manual but I can not find any commands that allow for the use of legs. did you remove it (hence the had)? or is it just not included in the manual?

It's deleted.

Addendum:

Since it would be very easy to add it back in, I think I will do that and have it available in v3.4. My 6 year old Grandson really thought it was cool so I could then add the legs for any games I make for him.

Awesome, thanks.
It seems that you seem to be adding in a lot of the stuff the community requested too. LOL.
If you want, I can remove the topmost half of a model (ie down to the bottom of the rib cage) and email it to you to use for the legs, if you want. I can send it textured and in a .x if you like. Interested?

Yes, that would be awesome. I already have pirate legs somebody had done for me and my Grandson loves it. He spent more time looking down at the legs than looking forward. Kept running into things and losing his life because of it. Of course, I have a very smart Grandson so it didn't take him very long to forget about the legs.

Ahhh, you're in Australia. Cool. At first I thought maybe somewhere in the U.K. but then I figured it couldn't be because of when you come on the forums.

Yes, I saw the legs and I get what you mean when you say it doesnt seem right... anyway, i attached a picture of legs in James Bond QOS just for you to take a look at.
Also, 'Have our Guns' posted a picture that looked quite good, I guess that it all really depends on how far your character bends when they look down. I personally quite like the picture above, as it shows more of the person... so long as you cant shoot yourself though.
OK, I will get onto making that model for you, and I will be in contact again to talk about textures ect.

EDIT
So you have been talking about your grandson a bit. how old is he?

OK, After playing with the character for a bit, I have shaped it to the way I like it, the only problem is that I can not texture it, so does anybody know of any good (prefferably free, but I will use demos) texturing programs other than lithunwrap?
Thankyou.

P.S.
I would have eidted this but I think that if somebody has this send alerts to them because of a new post, and they can help, then I have my help, whereas, if I edited, I dont think that it would send them a message.
Thanks again.

Blender does UV Mapping and it's free. Just takes a bit of getting used to, I suppose, but I'm no artist. You may be better off searhcing the models and media board for threads on the topic (no doubt there are lots of them)

Yes, I have tried blender and many people say it is excellent, but no matter what, I can not do anything with it. It is the only program where I open it and then I am stuck... Literally, I cannot do a single thing with it and all the tutorials assume you can, which is really annoying. Thanks anyway.

The one I was referring to is Six. I have another Grandson who is 16. He helps me understand what the young people like to see in a game. He thinks legs for the player in a FPS game is ridiculous. Hands and arms for the player however are a good thing.

I think fact of the matter is... unless the player is casting shadows onto walls, not many players are even going to notice that they have legs.

OK, I'm 16, and I just love my games (I'm sure you can guess) and I think that legs are awesome.

Thats somewhat a valid point, however, I have played games where there is a projected shadow, but you can rarely see it (due to low lighting) but I notice my legs.
Anyway, I have the first person legs done, I just need to texture them, which is hell findinf the right program - all of the other ones are just too complicated. Anyway, I will email you as soon as I have them done, and that will be hopefully quite soon. I am on holidays early now, so I can work on them more.

EDIT
By the way, Bond1 is making projected shadows. They don't yet rotate around the character affected by light, however, he is working on that, and it is looking quite good.
