3 Dimensional Chat / .3DS file not loading

I use Cinema 4D to create my models. Simple one work fine, with NURBS and all sorts. However, one I've just made is slightly more complicated. When I try and load it all I get is a black screen and it crashes. Any ideas?

Well, firstly I have little faith in the .3DS loading code in DBPro, so convert to .X first - and then tell us the polycount. Anything more than 20,000 polys is gonna cause problems because that needs a helluva lot of polygons, DBClassic for example, can only handle 10,000 polys per mesh.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about hypernurbs right?

Van,if you use an efficient low-poly cage under a subdivision mesh,it is possible to get it to generate a model under 4000 polygons,but that's not really the way to do it.

The model is only 500 polygons. That's not the problem. I'm thinking it's C4D's way of doing NURBS which DBPro can't handle. It's still a .3ds file export none-the-less.

Try exporting to obj and convert to .3ds using something else.
