hello all,

i'm fan of the dooms games and i will be very happy if there is here some other fan who want to work on this project.

i dont know how to make 3D models and scripts but if if someone want to make it possible, i'm ready to pay for a complete model pack (monsters of doom and some rooms segments).

a good idea is to start with the high resolution pack of the doomsday engine (jdoom HRP). there is all the stuff but i dont know how create the .X models and how to animate them.

(i can learn too if someone want to explain to me).

That may not come to fruition as a full, paid up model pack as creating a 'DOOM' themed model pack with direct references from the game would require permissions and licences, e.t.c from whoever holds the copyright.

The cost to licence the intellectual property would far outweigh any potential profits from the pack itself... its not financially viable.

However that`s not to say someone could not make the pack as an act of fandom and distribute it for free.. they just would not be able to sell it or profit from it in any way.

Sorry

New PC Specifications : Intel Core i3 2.93Ghz. Windows Vista Ultimate. 4GB DDR3 RAM. ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.

doom games are abandonware (doom 1, 2 ... the oldest).

i have found the .wad for free and i play with the doomsday engine for free too.

i think there is no licence problem. airslide use the imp in his game so ...

and as i said, i'm ready to pay for the work.

but if nobody want .. that's not a problem that's was just an idea from a fan

This is not true actually. You can create a model that is similar in design and get away with selling it without stepping over copyrights.

I'd say a DOOM style pack is very much possible. All it requires is a good artists.

True enough Tweak it enough to make it unique and there is no issue... but if you wanted actual DOOM critters in DOOM levels in the form of a model pack... it would have to be in the form of a free community model pack.

It would be an awesome project to work on - its just unfortunate I`ve not the time to devote to it yet

@josh : thank you man, i saw that was possible.

but as you said and as kasseys said, it will be very long and artist are needed.

there is many artist here like cosmic prophet and other but ... work so much for free is problematic.

so, an awesome project as you said, yes, but too much difficult.

harm.

have a good day.
