SCARE

The game has been in beta for about 5 years, since I got FPSC off ebay. I have just started to put a lot of real effort into it and produced several additional levels.
I draw all my levels on paper before I start making them.

Credits
Cheesecake made the mutant characters
Errant AI made the guns (mp9/mp10)

Engine:
FPSC V118 Beta 1

Story:

The story is set 3 million years in the future. The Earth orbits an artificially irradiated Saturn that acts as a substitute for our dying sun.

2039- the European Union, the North America Union and the Asian Union join together to form "United Earth". United Earth is a Pangeaic Alliance between all the countries on earth. The only country exempt from this was Canada.

2,040- the U.E passed a law that required floridization of all drinking water

3,648- a small group of scientists invented the first working cryogenic suspension unit. They were mass produced under U.E law and the worlds greatest minds were put to rest until the imminent discovery of a cure for death itself.

4,157- they invented a cure for death. The cry-units were opened and the cadavers were revived.

4,185- World War III began. The only sovereign nation left on Earth was required to use it's arsenal for protection against the U.E

4,186- Due to the sterilization effects of floride, the U.E was unable to battle with the largest country left on earth and quickly lost the war. Only a startling 5 million people are left alive.

Year 0- Through all the fighting only a fraction of humanity survived. Nothing was left of history and nobody wanted to remember what had happened. Much of the technology had been left over and the people of the planet Earth started rebuilding their humanity.

2012- The sun is dying. Mankind has developed truly superb technology with which they use to move Earth to an orbit around Saturn after they had ignited it (all automated ).

2,835,532- Earth has finished moving into orbit around Saturn.

2,999,994- Due to the proximity of earth to Saturn the only places to live on earth were Australia and the Antarctic landmass. Mutants are everywhere, Mankind is coming to an end. The age of the mutant is upon them. All that's left is a series of underground bases deep in the last forests. Soldiers are sent out monthly to check on previous cities that were populated by man. These cities have slowly, one by one lost contact with the underground bunkers.

It's not bad for a start.

Just remember making lots of levels is not important.

Designing 4 good levels is better than making 50 poor levels.

I always say this:For making a game instead of thinking behind the computer first pick up a pen and a paper.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!

He said he is putting real effort. Putting real effort doesen't require having the same results as you do, or does it? No.

But anyway, the lighting on that screen looks boring to me. The design of the room overall looks bland to my eyes. It looks like a good start, but try to make it more interesting. Not saying you should over populate the place, but it's mainly the lighting now and the box room that make it look boring. Try to make the architecture more interesting.

That doesen't work for all of us. For an example: Me. Not that I don't have skills on drawing or anything, but I just can't do that.

If you can't draw even a circle and some rooms so don't think about game making.

I know you have lots of models which are not yours.

So here the game making is just an illusion!
When you own 100% of your game then you can say I am a real game designer.

Don't be upset and remember there are many guys can't even do your job.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!

And they still use Glock 20 guns? Come on...

this looks like a 5 days production to me, not a five years one :S

I would strongly suggest to redo all your levels... and add some details

Looks pretty good,i just think the year 3 million is a bit much? as evolution takes place every few thousand years by then humans will proberly just be a blob of flesh with a finger that presses buttons on windows 7 million or something.
As for weapons just think what humans used 10 thousand years ago and what we use now,i think you should just change the year, good luck with your game

If you can't draw cicles or and some rooms, don't think about a career on drawing, if you however can make good levels without drawing, then why not, do level design.
Quote: "When you own 100% of your game then you can say I am a real game designer"

So no-one here is a REAL designer then? If you design your own levels, then yes, you are a designer then. You just are not a modeller or anything like that then.

And about the game:
What Wolf said about the guns... Hell, even the stock sci-fi weapons don't seem that futuristic to go in a 3000000 A.C game...

And you could work on your design more, to make it look more interesting. Now the areas look bland, and it doesen't stick out form really ANYTHING we've already seen here... multiple times...

The year I can explain with the fact that the survivors had to go into stasis until 2,999,994, because everything was automated the earth moved into orbit around saturn over the course of about 2,998,000 years

-Also the gameplay videos are about a year old and I have made plenty of improvements since they were recorded
