@Zwarte Piet

thanks, when you get the money grab it, The animations are worth it in the end, they have a free liscence to use the animations as you see fit. you can make a modle pack, rig them to the combat animations, then sell the pack.

These are great!!! And an open licence to boot. Awesome!! You were right Dan, they look a lot better in-game, unlike the videos. Well worth the price your asking. These will bring a wonderful diversity to hand to hand combat scenarios. Great Job!! You get 4 beers for this one my friend. Cheers!

@DW
The new vid looks terrific indeed, the animations improved a lot since the first sneek peek. Especially the one where the NPC kicks while doing a kind of backward flip is darn impressive.

I got several questions though:

- Can I use it on a standard FPSC character (after altering the .fpe file maybe) or do I have to rig each character myself?
- If used on an unarmed charcater, do the hands remain open?
- Does it work on characters like those from Bond1's Fantasy Pack (these allready have additional animations beyond 99)?

I am very interested in this pack because I always wanted to use the stock skeletons as undead fighters for fantasy scenarios but never had the proper animation.

The main problem I have with this pack is how blocky the animations look... No real flow. This may be due to trying to fit it into FPSC, sometimes I seen in the vid that when he goes for a crouch hit he stands up and spins in the default "T" pose then goes back fighting, just could get annoying for people. Also when they move they are sometimes really slow, also at 0:33 on the video I noticed that the guy on the left squashes himself. Also at 0:36 you literally ran back towards them so they began fighting again.lol Also when they try to run it seems really either slow or jerky, over and over again in that video I saw slight jerk movements from both when they tried to run, they also seem to do this weird glide before running, which just makes me a tad unsure about the price.

Other then that animations could be of some use.

1.Can I use it on a standard FPSC character (after altering the .fpe file maybe) or do I have to rig each character myself?

yes you can use them on any stock character and even bond ones, but you will have to rig them, What is in this pack is the animations with examples and the skelitions.

2.If used on an unarmed charcater, do the hands remain open?

no or yes, it depends on the charcater trully, are the hands deformable? can the hands close eaisly? Its best to have hands that are modled closed to look the best.

3.Does it work on characters like those from Bond1's Fantasy Pack (these allready have additional animations beyond 99?

No, but if needed I can modify the animation numbers past his if some one can tell me where his end.

Thanks for looking

@Deathead

There are 2 reasons why you are seing the problems here, 1,I do have all of the animations playing after each other on 2 difrent guys, I have learned this slowes down the decision making on when to play the next animation, so when I chaned it to three or four animations it plays right on que.

The rest of what you are seeing truly has to do with what animation plays next, now if you scripted it properly to play only the animatons you would want to a few here and there then default "T" pose then goes back fighting would not happen,its all in the script.

As far as the animations are conserend they are real good desent animations, there not perfect but for fpsc, there decent enough.

I cannot afford to purchase at the moment but the animations look a little choppy from the video, is that just the video? I know it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss when recording stuff while the game runs. Other than that they look very nice.

Here's a video I made using one of my new upcoming Characters. In my opinion, it's a huge leap from having to use the stock rig with the grenade throw animation for hand to hand scenarios.

The use of "Fraps" for the recording has slowed the video capture down here a bit. But it makes it a little easier to see the animations.

Hope this helps.

Wow! He looks great, Sir.

You're absolutely correct...

...the new animations are a huge leap.

@ Daniel wright 2311

Looks really great!

Q: Could the animations be fine-tuned to look more polished?

A: Sure they could, but they're a big improvement over what we've had at our disposal, for melee attacks. They're a welcome addition. "

Something to ponder: the purchase price might be a tad high, and put folks off.

Are these 100% custom standalone animations, or have they been added to augment the standard FPSC biped animation set?

great video, better then my own,lol

yes, they are all set up and ready to edit in any way. When you rig your characters you should fine tune them to fit your mesh. but they do fit any mesh already with the .figure file.

yes they are 100 percent stand alone with in the .bip fpsc animations, I also include the animations alone with no fpsc animations. but the problem is the walk and run animations I have not made but I will, so I included them in the fpsc .bip animations first.

I would like to say something about the price, I know 19.95 is a little pricey for you guys for animations, but most all fpsc packs are this price and I never herd anyone complain on there prices so i figured I worked hard on them and it should be a fair price.but if its not set right tell me what should be a fair price then i will change the price and give a couple refunds out. I dont mind

This is correct,but the official packs are much bigger.These are nice but 20$ is a tad too much.

For example I'm planing to sell a pack with the size of an official model-pack for 3.50$,but then again we have different aproaches.

[b]I aplaud you for these,as they are very good[b] but I think 10$ would be the reasonable price.

Good luck anyway!

I think if more characters were included game ready 20$ would be a good price, Some people would by it just for characters. Most Fpsc packs come with more than two chartacters. I myself have not yet learned to rig characters, so 20$ is a high price for just 2 FPSC ready characters.

Thanks Daniel,
Now, if I can rig something to those MilkShape bones then I'll be okay. (I never have much luck at rigging)
I've been wanting to make some melee animations on my own but never got around to it.
Maybe this will motivate me enough to give it a try after all, and it will definitely give me some great animations to use until I do.

Thanks again.

Yep, but I have grown quite fond of the 'grenade throw slap', so I will still use it once in awhile for old times sake.

Okay, thanks, I'll keep it in mind and email you when I need help.
On a side note about rigging; have you rigged any custom heads to the facial boneset yet? (my talkers get corrupted somehow on import, so I can't edit them)
If I can get a decent female talker rigged in MilkShape without the animation corruption, then I'll be set for making custom talkers.

Still have all the media from what?
I don't need melee for the talker, just a rigged talker in MilkShape without the corrupted animations.
I'll shoot you an email about the talker rig job.
