Hi
I am trying to do 2 different functions and need help in the direction I need to follow.

I am building a slot machine. Each reel has 40 images, some the same and some different. These are in a specific order. I need to be able to make these images move smoothly when one goes off the screen anoth one will appear. have the origional images in Photoshop so I can export to any format. Please give me some direction to follow, Thanks

Secondly I have some flash animations that I want to include in my game. Flash MX can export in various formats.

What would the best way to go to run these sequences. I have seen that some people put all the frames in a BMP file and somehow no quality is lost. Where can I find more information about doing this or something better.

Thanks once again

You only need 2 plains/sprites per reel to do this. Set your image sequence up in 3 arrays, one for each reel. For each reel:

1. Texture Plain 1 with image 1
2. Texture plain 2 with image 2
3. Scroll plain 1 down, hiding behind your facia (another sprite/plain) as it goes.
4. Scroll plain 2 down, appearing from above, behind the facia again.
5. When plain 1 is out of sight, texture with image 3
6. Move plain 1 to top
7. Repeat, taking account of new positions.

I did this years ago (1993 to be precise) for a digital clock...on a mainframe with text only output!!!
