Hm...that is prtety amaznig. I've noticed it before, all on my own, how if I read the first few letters of a word my mind automatically completes it for me.

I have used that technique for the last 10 years when taking notes at school. You can write much faster if you only bother writeing the first and last letters correctly and just get the general shape of the middle letters. You can also leave out a lot of the letters in big words as long as you get the lenght of the word approximatly the same. Didn't do much for my spelling and drove most of my teachers mad.

Say it out loud really fast and it sounds like you have a sinus problem, or a hairlip.

Something about reversed internal characters confusing everyday onlookers?

Each of his words have the first and last letter in place but the middle letters in reverse order. So for the first word:

Anidroccg becomes According

Anyway, I think Rich is trying to get the point across that the original statement about just the first and last letters be in the right place to read it, is incorrect.

I always type filed instead of filed, er...field. Not good for a tecchie writing programming specs

And the spellchecker never complains because it's not a mis-spelling.

Yeah, the spellchecker won't pick up on the wrong their/there as well or weather/whether or that damn practise/practice - I still don't know which practise to use in which occasion.
