im having a bit of trouble trying to light a dbo in dbp
can someone give me a hand?

this is what i did so far:

i exported a map as a dbo from 3dws and loaded it into dbp

load object "neighborhood part 1.dbo",1,3

and i set the dbpro mode to 3 because every other one i set it to makes the object dark

and no matter what type of light i put in the scene it doesnt affect the object at all

The .dbo format doesn't store lightmap data.

Use another format, i think you should use the save format .3dws

Check out the helpfiles in 3dws, i think it says something about the different formats and what they support.

@Bergice:
I'm pretty sure that .DBO files DO include a light map as one of the texture layers. (Or at least this is how giles and 3DWS export the files)

@Fancy music:
To me, that scene doesn't look to have any textures at all. What does it look like when you just load it without any extra lights or changing anything else from the default?

Any chance you wanna share with the community how you did it? In case someone else has the same problem and by chance stumbles across this thread.
