Yo peeps. I decided that while i was making my Spaceman game i could sure use a random Variable creator. So i wrote one in Visual Basic That could support up to 5 resolutions. Then i added a colour creator that gives RGB values, HEX Values, and hopefully soon Hue, Saturation, and Lumination Values. So i figured, ah, these are things that are fairly simple that everyone will probably use. So i figured why not just make it fully? So i guess i'm making a game numbers and maths helper. I think maybe the next addition will be a calculator, and if i can code well enough, a graph generator (for all your Sin, Cos, and Tan needs). The next definate upgrade i'll will be putting in will be a sprite-size checker, telling you if a sprite would be off screen and telling you sprite size limits etc. So any Ideas? I'm developing this in Ad.Computing with a guy who sits next to me, "Shougity Doug", who's a VB genius. He wrote a pong game the other day, and it was pretty impressive. Well what would you like to see in this game creation multi-tool? Post here. Or, if you think what i'm doing is stupid, post that here too. I'll just drop the idea if no-one's interested : I'll just program it to do what i need if no-one wants it. I just thought that to integrate all the tools that everyone uses (or has to think out in their heads...) wouldn't be such a bad idea really.
Give me soem Feedback peeps. -DivW

PS : I'd show you what i've done so far, but i'm halfway through re-arranging the layout to make room for the new features i'd be putting in it, like sprite sizes, etc.)

Anyway...any ideas? I might be able to put up an advanced preview later on today, if i can get this code to work. Anyone got any ideas of what they want me to put in this, or will i just not bother? I'm putting in a HLS values later on today if i can get my head around the conversion. So and ideas? (Forget about the Pong )

Hooray. Some comeback. This is good. I'll put up a beta of what i have so far when i get Hex equaivelancy to work. (My that was a big word...hope i spelt it right.) VB is doing something strange where it replaces every Hex value of 0A with one of 00. This totally #*!$'s my program as the colour chooser doesn't work. I'll have this fixed as soon as i can.

Good luck!

Maybe you could use strings and stuff for typing in hex values..

It's not a specific language tool, so it can be used for just about anything i guess. The colour chooser is being done with HTML in mind. However i'm having trouble with the code as the format command is doing something strange to the code-everytime it gets a "0A" hex value to print it becomes "00". Every other value works except these ones. It's weird but i'll sort it out.

I'll put up a demo as soon as it's working. It's a nice program but i doubt anyone would actually find it useful. -DivW
