Story: You are Peter Ponooky. You were suppose to go a vacation in Papua New Guinea until the airplane malfunctions and crashes into the ocean. Everybody died in that crash except Peter, who jumps off the plane and swims to a nearby island which is filled with people who kill anybody who gets on their island for money by their sponsor named Job Peck.
To make their job easier, the scientists who inhabit the island hve created the unimaginable, the most dangerous, a thing that fills peoples mind with terror, to make sure that no stranger ever survives in their island.

Here's a screenshot of the first level.

looking good, hopefully the next beta will have fixed some of the water bugs. I think a clearer, bluer skybox will fit better.
hows the frame rate like?

good frame rates matter...

Quote: "Features:

WATER!
tropical Island. (Ahhhh)
guns
blood
animals"

Well... I think only water would go to the features list. Becouse guns really isn't a feature, neather blood or animals. Altho I don't see much animals in FPSC Games... but don't get me started drom the Tropical island as a feature. If I made my Ship Invaders features like so, teh features would look like this:

Space Ship
guns
blood
fast zombies

But to be honest, the screen doesen't appeal to me at all. I think it's over bloomed, the skybox doesen't fit too well and it's overall very bare.

I just started yesterday.
How do I lower the bloom?
Oh, and the framerate is 6 on average. Arggh!
I hope it's just because my comp has an intel gma 915 and 1 gb RAM and the processor is old. So maybe it won't be so bad on other people's computers.

no, that raises and lowers the ambience. to turn off bloom, you go into the setup.ini, and change the value of the post processing effects line to 0.

I never knew there was a show like that! Ha ha.

Mods, could you kindly change the title of this thread this to "Stranded! [X9 Version 1.18] (Story Driven game competition)" ?

Hmm Jack Parver...

Jack Carver...Far Cry...hmmm

Stranded on an Island - check
Airplane crash - check
Quote: "the enemy's scientists have created the unimaginable, the most dangerous, a thing that fills peoples mind with terror, to make sure that no stranger ever survives in their island."
- Check

Seems like a bit changed Far Cry 1 story.

Or am I wrong..?

Priceless conversation, guys. Most likely more entertaining than a 6-framerate game where everything is *borrowed*

Here are a few tips for you to think about:
- Lover the Overall Ambient to 0, the light will create nice shadows which improve quality.
- Try to add more Entities and if possible Custom media, Your pics looks like a Mismatch between model packs.
- Try to alter the story, it does seems like a Far-cry or Lost Sequel.

Hope you do something with the tips!

Good work, i suggest you dont mix lighting so much, and light it a bit more also watch with bright colours, they trick bloom

I think the screen looks good, however, the segments are repeated all the way up the room, you can mix and match segment types to make it less noticable

K, the first level is totally changed and the player can't swim in water anymore because I downgraded to the second beta of v1.18 due to the black screen in the build game. Anyway I've attached a photo of the updated level. I will add more entities to block the unrealness.

The average fps is 12, and my comp isn't so good. (integrated intel video card, 3gb ram) I bet people would have better computers than me.
