Hey, I'm looking at two different php frameworks, codeigniter or yii.

Yii seems to offer more features but their documentation is abysmal and out of date. Codeigniter seems to have superior documentation and support, but not as many features. Does anyone here use codeigniter and can chip in their opinion?

Sorry, I don't use either of those, but I do know php, could you explain what exactly they are?

They're PHP frameworks. PHP itself could be considered a framework, but these help you layout code and provide you a lot of functionality for your programs straight out of the box. They're kind of a halfway point of using CMS or starting from scratch.

Not having used either, my tiny advice would be to check if Codeigniter offers the functionality you need. It may not have everything that yii has but it does have what you need for the job then I'd use it for the sake of having better documentation and larger support by the sounds of it. I think that could improve dev time over yii.
