I just began learning how to make 3d models. If anybody could tell me where I should start and what would be the easiest things to make for a begginner then I would appreciate it! I want to share these models with everybody, for free, like so many other people do on this board. Thank You!

the best tip i can give you is to start simple, take your time & dont try to run before you can walk.

start with barrels & boxs ,learn to uvw map & texture them.

make sure that they look like the real thing ( i see to many barrels on here that look like they have had a solid color pasted onto them )before you move onto more complex models.

oh yeh & dont claim others work as your own !!!!!!

good luck

cheers henry

Now that's better. Henry is right, start simple, First thing I would suggest is that you find a 3D program that you feel comfortable with. I would recommend "Milkshape" It's cheap, and is great for beginners as well as pros.

Here's some resources for you to check out.

Don't worry about giving stuff away yet, Free or not. Develop your skills first. Make that your primary goal. Giving your own stuff to the community is a great thing, and you will gain a much greater feeling of acomplishment knowing that you did it yourself.

Trust me, I'm the "Free Stuff" Freak around here.

And be sure to view all critisizim as a "good thing" even if it sounds bad. It will help you focus on the things that you need to improve on.

With that said, Welcome to the community, and I hope we will see some cool and interesting thing from you.

All the best, The Cosmic Prophet.

Now is the time, for all good things to pass. And don't it figure, My toilets' broke.

I'm soon going to upload a video tutorial on my website on how to make a model and get it into fps creator, using AC3D, which is a great program espicially for those new to 3d.
