First-chance exception at 0x014baff9 in Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000010.

I get this after starting my program. The screen is black for a few moments as if loading then return the error.

I'm afraid that 3ds support has been dropped (unless supported by the recent 26th October DGDK version).
Try to convert the model to .x
Also take into account that the error that you show might be caused by some other reason...

Not officially dropped, but loading 3ds files has had problems in all DGDK versions, and although it has been reported as a bug, it hasn't been fixed yet. It must be considered by TGC as a low priority one, or not worth the effort, uh.

Or dbo, i prefer dbo to .X. Its faster and supports everything u need.

It's not dropped - It's on my list to look into.

I'd suggest converting your media to DBO anyway, and as there's a free download version of DBPro, it should be really easy for you to use that to convert 3DS to DBO.

Im converting to directX .x files, but anyway my animation are not playing, as they did before i wiped and reinstalled ( same code different effect)
I will try converting them again to dbo i sappose but this would be a less of a pain in the ass if it all worked to begin with.
I would really apreciate it if you figured out why it doesn\'t work \"sometimes\" or you know when jackass\'s like me can\'t install $h!t right lol.

Amazing 12 error's I love it, this is after converting to dbo file type even when I don't use dbo it does this. probably not connected but still frustrating as hell. Multiplayer.lib?? wtf

even when starting a standard 3d app with the wizard it gives me these errors.

Which DirectX SDK version do you use? AFAIK the multiplayer.lib is not compatible with newer DirectX versions than the August 2007.

If you want to use a later DirectX version, you can experiment according to this thread:

Hey glad to hear so, Ian.
I know it can seem rather trivial to use .x (or .dbo for programmers), and yet not being able to use .3ds files always stays in the back of my mind for some reason...
