Hey all,

I've always been a fan of charity and donate on a regular basis to several charities. It only came to me that people make money on the internet the other week, so I thought that maybe TGC could raise a bit of cash for a worthy charity that I personally donate to on a monthly basis.

The 'Make a Wish Foundation' is a charity that operates all over the globe fulfilling the greatest wish of critically ill, many of them terminally ill, children. These help to give the child a normal day as all of them are often in and out of hospital or are permanently impaired in some form. Many of them have only a short time left to fufill their life long dreams. The Make a Wish Foundation makes these dreams come true. Here's an example of one boy with kidney cancer who, with the foundations help, becomes 'Electron Boy':

I thought of just asking for donations but to give you guys some incentive to help out this cause I'm putting together a mega pack for FPSC that covers many areas. It will include: segments; entities;overlays and maybe some 2d work. A few W.I.P screens:

I am accepting donations to this pack, but please bear in mind that it will be sold for a price that is not yet decided, so if you donate please ensure all licenses are appropriate. All money made by this will be donated to the 'Make a Wish Foundation'.

How much would you be willing to pay for a pack like this?

Thanks,

Ben

Hi buddy, Great idea, and a great charity. I'll send you some stuff in a week or so. Just have to wrap a few new things up first.

Now is the time, for all good things to pass. And don't it figure, My toilets' broke.

Before I say anything I want you to know I would back this all the way your heart is definitely in the right place, but before you go any further you should contact the charity you want to contribute to.
Its illegal to collect money in a charity's name without their official approval, I believe you would send them every penny brought in from this and I am not trying to say otherwise at all, I have done the same thing myself and just giving you a heads up on how it should be done, you should either get official permission to collect monies or arrange with the charity that they collect all payments for the pack, either way you want to avoid any trouble with it.

I would be more than happy to donate to this.

Are those wall overlays yours? Because they look a lot like those on CGTextuers, and I doubt those would allow you to include them by their licence.

However, if I'm wrong, then sorry, no offense

The textures are from CG Textures but as far as I'm aware they can be used like this:

Quote: "Use of the Textures is only allowed under the following conditions:
- Private or commercial use
- Use in 2D or 3D computer graphics, movies and printed media
- Incorporation in computer games, 3D models
- Selling 3D models bundled with modified versions of the textures, when the texture is customized for the 3D model
"

I have no idea how I can provide proof for that, but I should get an email back from the foundation sometime this week, maybe they will collect the money..
