Can somebody explain why this floow, which i included, does not show in game? I use v1.18 b3 and this floor has D,D2,N and I textures but when i try to use floor_spec_ill.fx shader in it it's not working, i just can't see anything. Anybody? I think there is problem with DDS compression formats or something.

A screenshot would be nice so we could see what kind of a problem you're talking about without downloading the files.

Well.. even if i take screenshot there is no matter of that because there is simply no texture in the floors.. they are see-thru. So you can't see anything if i put a screenshot.

Yes.. and i tested it with shader using dynamic light and it worked.. somehow. Now i only have to find out why does not work with static light..

Ok, I downloaded the files and tested it. You don't seem have your textures in texturebank folder, I think that might be the problem. Shaders work just fine when I place the textures in texturebank and edit the .fps file to refer to the new location of textures.

what shader are you using? if it's designed for dynamic lights it may not work right

It looks like this when i have static light somewhere on the map.



I'äm using floor_spec_ill.fx shader which came with v1.18 and it works well on scifi segments with static lights.

Oh, you're using v1.18. I still use v1.17 myself so the problem could be in the BETA v1.18. I was using static lighting in the screenshot I took

Can it reason be texture compression? I use DDS file and BC1/DXT1 compression. Is the problem with that? Can somebody who have made those scifi segments which are working help me and tell what is wrong? Please?

So.. it's problem with my version.. but still all stock segments are working fine with all shaders, and i had all same textures.. _I, _N, _D and _d2..

If I were you, I'd go back to v1.17 and check if the shaders worked with that version. I'm not an expert in these things though. Maybe someone else could answer your question about texture compression.
