i would really like to utilise the forcefore, forceleft, forceback etc actions to make a 3rd person birds eye-view spaceship shooter.

is this posible? it sounds like something fun to make and i love retro shooters so i myself would enjoy playing it.

Cheers, Eric

I think you may find it vastly easier to accomplish that goal using a different engine. FPSC is designed to make FPS games. Third person is great, but there are also the basic rules of the engine to take into account as well, such as gravity, basic physics, the scale of the map (not a great scale to work with for a space shooter, man)

I just suggest not attempting it in FPSC, grab another engine for it.

I suggest the same. if you want a really easy to use, but simple engine, then I would recommend one of these:

1)Unity 3D (FREE!!!)
2)Torque (pricier, but worth it)

and if you want one more advanced, I recommend one of these:

1)DarkBasic Pro (obviously)
2)Unreal Development Kit -UDK- (FREE!!!)
2)LeadWerks Engine (My personal favorite, but $200)

good luck in whatever way you make this!
