FPSC Classic Models and Media / a texture for most models, it is convenient?

I always wondered, if I use a texture for 4 or 5 models, and the file. fpe call the same texture, it is convenient to speed up the game loads, or to conserve resources?

It would save resource yes,but if the models are complex and require bigger maps with certain detail that applies only to 1 model, it's not that good of an idea.

if you have a material texture though (chunks of metal,concrete,wood,etc), why not.
