it lookes like the object has to hit an edge before it detects collision.

ok, well it doesn't have to hit an edge. but i get the feeling the computer is rolling a pair of dice to see if it should report a hit.

this program needs a toggle to test both polygon collision object as polygons, not the first one as a polygon and the second as a sphere

testing for collision between the sphere and the triangle and then the triangle and the sphere seems to work, but collision detection between a polygonal box and a polygonal sphere is very spotty even using the above method and box collision for the box works even worse.

ok, only one problem, those sphere's are asteriod placeholder's and there not going to remain sphere's forever. thanks anyway.

Don't be disheartened Large Mouse as Matthew D is in the process of putting together a whole new version that has different types of collision included. Its still being debugged but shows great promise.
