Is it possible to return a user defined type from a function?

I don't believe you can create UDT's in functions. That's why I always make mine in subroutines IE:

+ Code Snippet

gosub setup:

do
    end
loop

setup:
    type a
        b as integer
    endtype
return

This would not work:

+ Code Snippet

a=setup()

do
    end
loop

function setup()
    type a
        b as integer
    endtype
endfunction a

At least that's my understanding of it...

You cannot return a UDT from a function but you can change or set the values of the variables of a UDT from a function.

+ Code Snippet

type myUDT
   name as string
   age as integer
endtype

global UserInfo as myUDT

function setInfo()
  UserInfo.name = "Joe"
  UserInfo.age = 30
endfunction
