The 'normal' is to do with the way light affects each part of the matrix.
What is it you are trying to do and we might be able to help?

i can't hide that i laugh when i read that, too complex

as matty halewood said, tell us more about what you want to do, also, 'set matrix normal' looks more like a DarkBASIC function, why positing this in GDK board, are you even using GDK?

Your signature has been erased by a mod - Please reduce it to 600x120 maximum size

Oh yeah, I never even noticed that.
How are you doing with your engine Hassan? You used to have a link in your sig, anyway we can view your progress now? If not, no problem, good luck with it.

This will set the normal pointing straight up I think. It seems strange that you want to learn what a function does so you can use it, usualy people have a problem or need some desired behaviour and then ask what function or set of functions they need to use, not the other way around.

Anyway hope this helps, you may need to go and read up on what normals are if you are not sure.

It's going very very well, working on a level editor and it's all going great, i might update the signature soon and add a link to the progress

Stop posting the same question in multiple boards.

If you are using Dark Basic, post in the Dark Basic Board.
