Hey FPSCers,

Im having a problem where my Gun Textures do NOT show up in the HUD view. Im using EAI hands and the hand textures come up perfect but the Gun just shows as black. The gun is fully uv mapped seeing how when I didn't use EAI the gun was showing full textures and all. I've tried re-opening in such modeling programs and max and all and re-exporting to no avail. I did this because I thought when I merged the Gun onto the hands file that I lost all UV coordinates doing so, so I reversed the process and I still got the lack of textures. I don't know why the problem is occurring seeing how all of my texture files are .dds as well. Everything including animations work well, the only stall point im meeting now is the non working textures. Can someone please offer some advice?

I've included some screen shots for example.

Thanks in advance.

You need to make sure you overwrite the original file, dont give it a different name. It must also be placed in the same folder the normal texture is found.
Also, when you are saving, for it to appear correctly, when you export the texture to a dds, you need to use 8bit interpolated alpha.
Hope this helps,

Well I did everything but the 8 bit interpolated alpha.... Does only EAI have this requirement?

no, everything in FPSC that would need transparency does. Decals, segments, anything at all that is supposed to have any kind of transparency.
Even if the gun doesnt, it still needs an alpha channel.
This is providing you use the nvidia .dds exporter for photoshop.
