Hi

I have started work on my next game and I have been testing out some custom characters using ragdoll. The ragdoll works well and is doing what it should, apart from this strange affect.

As you can see it has just messed up and I'm not sure why. I don't know if it something to do with the weight on the vertex.

If anyone could advise that would be great.

I wish I could give you a definate answer.

Does it do the same deformation every time?

What I have read is maybe trying to shorten the death animation frames to 10 or less.

Also make sure the the verticies are really were they belong.
Take extra time and care in assigning them. Everything weighted.
Make sure that all verticies are welded before Skinning to get rid of Isolated or duplicate veticies.

I see this on stock models also. sometime worse depending on which shader is being used. Try with the effectbank\bumpbone\bumpbone.fx shader and see if it still happens.

I dont know if you can completely resovle it, but maybe make the deformation a bit less noticable.

Hope this helps.

The FPSC source bug tracker has an open issue on this topic actually so we can hope something is done about it.

Hi

I have tried none shader, fastbone and bonebump and all do the same thing. So it looks like it may not be the shaders.

I will have a look at it in fragmotion, but it is something I'll going to have to learn how to use now.

If anyone else has advise please let me know as every bit of help is needed.

Thanks
