Hi, i just thought it would be nice after creating a game to generate random serials for it, actually not much of DBPro games are sold like in even 500 copies, so you could insert the serials manually, make an alghoritm for them, etc. So here it is!

-------------------------SERIAL MAKER------------------------------

Features list:
Can generate up to 50.000 serials to one serials.txt file.
Never generates same serials.
It's speeded up as much as possible.
Ability to tell the program how much of serials it shall generate.
Easy in use

Instructions on using:
If you want to make new serials, and delete old one's, feel free to get into the serials.txt file, press ctrl+a to select everything and then just delete them. You can also copy the serials from there. Feel free to copy your serial maker to a new folder - now you can create up to 50.000x2 serials! Amazing.

Uhh... am I missing something here?

What are these serials used for? xD

Anyone can generate a serial, here's one:
gfhbw4shj76
Here's another one:
tj3sl3AW£KL"mafa{]|TP"£<KG2gfIam
And here's another one:

But seriously, surely even the string ",a2" could be classified as a serial... :S

Yes, but it's easier to generate around 50 serials to assing to an games copies, (it generates serial on 4x4 like: AAAA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAA) it's just easier and more faster way, it will never make serials that already exist, and as i said, the main thing is that it's easier, faster and you don't gotta think off 500 serials. Simple

PS. Serials are used for PC games, installing the game - you must type the serial of it

So basically you've made some software to generate CD keys...

I'm pretty sure this is violates rule 3.5 of the AUP:

Quote: "The following software related topics, and discussion of them, are banned from all of our forums:

3.2 Advertising websites that are not on-topic
3.3 Spam / Pyramid schemes
3.4 Links to illegal software, illegal software sites, or illega Bit Torrents/p2p sites
3.4a Links to ebay or similar auctions for any of our software
3.5 Serial numbers or Cracks for any piece of software, made by any company
3.6 Anything considered "adult" material (be it pornographic or horrific)"

That's not what he's saying. It's just a random CD key style generator for use in your own project to "protect" your stuff.

The problem is the idea has no intrinsic security to it. The keys aren't made by encrypting some other data and decrypting it when the user enters it. So there's really no use for it.

KISTech is right . In both ways i think.

I find it useful atleast. People could generate a CD-key, attach it to the game copy and have a server. When the user installs his game copy, he must type in his serial number. So in this case let be it AAAA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAA. Then there is a connection with mentioned up above server, server checks if serial is free and if it is, then the game is being installed . Maybe really this thing is useless, but i found it funny to make it

PS. Explaination of to what is serials.txt -

When you generate a CD-Key, it just stores it in the serials.txt, so when you open that .txt you see let's say 35A6-KUI0-SS12-BK78

Geez C0wbox, this is a good piece of software It isn't breaking any rules, and the serials you made up are NOT serials, because they don't follow any algorithms. When you buy a game and enter a serial to activate it, it checks if the code matches the algorithm it was generated with. If it matches, the game is activated. This way the game doesn't need to store 50000 codes in it, that could potentially be extracted.

Yeah I got it...

It was just worded badly so it just looked like he'd either made a random character generator or a CD key generator.

And you're right, those things I said probably aren't serial keys for anything but they might be, we don't know. (A serial key doesn't have to be in the 4x4 format, it can just be some characters, as long as it's used by something. - Even an incorrect serial key is still called a serial key if you say it is such.)

What I was trying to imply was that there didn't seem to be the encoder or decoder for the serial keys this program generated, so it could just be generating random characters (just as I did).

Regardless, if this is genuinely useful to someone, don't let me diminish it, I was just going by what I read in the first post.
