I've just learnt how to use Google Sketchup and i must say it is a great tool and can be learnt in secound (assuming you've you've used other modeling programs before)

So i have made and very basicly textured ( had to use Sketchups stock textures) Sniper tower.

My question is: How can i make this work as a static entity?
I know how to make dynamic work but when i try to change it fom dynamic to static it loses it's textures and becomes white..

And also if you could tell me if you can make uv maps for sketchup and explain how it is done that would be good

I PLAY JAZZ!
i know, i'm a very problemed child...

if it is multi-textured, it has to be dynamic. if there ever becomes a way to make it static, i would love lee long time.

there is a directx plugin for sketchup. export it and make a new uv map for it. then load it up for example entity workshop to make it FPSC ready.

there is enoug info about this on this forum. use the search button

You can make multi textured object static by using a photo program like photoshop or gimp to combine all your images just like a UV map would be layed out. place the texture on your object in sketch up and then (here's the little known tip) left click on the textured surface, then right click and select texture-position. Here you can scale, rotate etc the image on the face. Adjust all you faces and export. You now have multi textures, but only 1 texture file. It's kind of a cheap and dirty UV map. Here's a screen shot of the adjustment screen.

Maybe thats because this is posted in the wrong place. His answer was quite relevant considering you can only use multiple textures on a dynamic object which would make this kind of model next to useless in FPSC as it would have only box collision and wouldnt take lightmapping. If you want more of an answer than that then this isn't the place to ask.
I got to say this
We see more screenshots of models in sketchup than we see in FPSC around here these days.

The answers you seek can be found in 3d chat board.

you dont know how to do this and you are giving critics to someone who gives advice??

Rolfy@

i could not say it better, i am glad other people understand what i mean. but those are the more experienced users then DesignRunner. and already knew that its not wise to use to much dynamic entities.
