Dark GDK / dbLoopObject and dbPlayObject slow game down

Hello, each time I play or loop a Model's animation the CPU goes from 40 to 65 and sometimes 99. It also slows the game down in my friend's computer. I am calling the loop function once, and it is NOT inside a while or for loop. I am beginning to think that it is actually the model, but why would it be the model? Are there any other reasons why it a model animation would slow down the game?

Unless you have a VERY complex model, I dont see why animation would be slowing it down at all.. How many computers have you tested this on?

Hello there, thanks for responding. My apologies for not responding sooner (I thought i would get an e-mail every time some one replied to my post). I have tested it on two computers. The model's complexity is not an issue, or so I would thing, for I reduced the number of polygons greatly to test if that was just the case, and the functions still gave me trouble. At one time I thought it would be the number of frames, but it was not that either. Maybe its the settings with which I export the model? if so, what are the best setting to export the model using panda?

Play object problem

Thats a link to a post I made as I noticed this issue too, try using dbSetObjectFrame() and see if it helps.

Hey matty, thanks for the link. I think I may have found the reason why it was slow and gave my CPU problems. I think my model is using too many dummies. I deleted a bunch of them and performance got better. Even so, I will give a shot using your suggestion for the sake of better performance. Thanks!
