Hi,
I've got a strange error with my Db help file in that it will not load from within DBpro.

I can open it in any web browser and it works fine.
within dbpro all i get is a blank window.

It seems like its looking in the wrong place for it.

how can i redirect it to the right place?

Ive done 2 complete re-installs and with the older version(54_90) the help file is present when the program loads(on the right side of the screen in that tutorial mode) and the help file works.

as soon as I update to the latest version the help files are inaccessible again.

My first installation of Dbpro worked fine and it was done using the same install files I am using now - the only difference is that the first time I already had DBpro free installed on my computer.

I can always go to the browser, but its nice to have the ease of the in house help system.

anyone had this happen?
any suggestions?
thank-you
kezzla

Try this way, which i just found, and i dunno if is it good. Open up your directory of Dark Basic Professional, inside you should see "Launch.CFG", open it up also, and edit the patches, so it will all be correct, if you want to know here's my set-up there:

Hope it'll help.

Thanks Kamac,
I tried adding the specific full path address, which is the only thing yours has that mine does not. It still will not load. Its very strange.

Hm, open up Help folder then, and inside you should see files such as "documents.htm", "index.htm" etc. and folders like commands, tutorials. You have it all?

thankyou kamec for your ongoing troubleshooting.

I have all the folders you have mentioned and others relating to other plugins I have.

the next step I think is to install Dbpro free, update and see if the help files exist.

if i then install dbpro online and it works then there is a problem with my install files.

still wierd as online and free will be in separate folders.
im just gonna try out various variables until I make it work and then troubleshoot more from there to better understand the problem.

very wierd indeed

***********Update*********

Ok, not long after my last post my Ram, OS and hard drive file system died in spectacular fashion.

after finally getting my machine going again and reinstalling everything *again* I no longer have the problem with the help file. everything works like a charm and my programs even run better.

I put the error down to a majorly sick computer on the verge of death sulking and being delirious.

thank-you Kamac
