Ok, so I recently bought an ATI Radeon HD 4350 card with 512MB GDDR2 memory, and 5 GB RAM operating on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I decide I wanted to use a screen shader, so I added the Mod.ini file and tried it out. NOTE THIS IS A FS 3.0 shader. My graphics card manual says that it will support up to FS 4.1. I also don't seem to get a frame rate jump at all. The shader actually slows the FPS to a crawl.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately the HD 4350 is not a gaming graphics card. It's a low-end card meant for HTPC's, and watching video. It's not meant for 3D graphics.

Read the summary of this card here: http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1824_13.html

You will not get good performance in games with this card.

Ok, then how about the nVidia 8300 GS card?

Reason I ask is because that was my old card.

That's also a low end card from 2007 aimed at HTPC's. It's not a gaming card either: performance will be terrible in FPSC as well as any recent PC FPS game.

At the bare minimum, looking at Nvidia's latest cards, the lowest I'd recommend is a GTS 450, which can be found for about $130.00, if you want to run FPSC with full shader effects.

The sweet spot for performance/price would be a GTX 460, which would give you more than enough for FPSC. And can be found for just shy of $200.

If you're low on money, you can also buy an Nvidia 8600 Series Card.

I call one of these my own and it runs most games with decent performance.

Well crap...

How about the Radeon HD 4550? That's a card within my budget, and need to know if it'll execute my demands.

I have 4350 too, but I run fpsc on full shaders with no lags.

Before buying something new try updating your graphics card drivers. Might give a boost - especially if your current drivers happen to have a bugged installation.

@Arseny, no, I'm running Fullscreen shaders, not effects.

@Scurvy Lobster, I think bond1 answered it for me...

Since I'm stuck in hell, how would I turn up the anti-aliasing setting on this card? Catalyst Control Center ain't worth nothing for setting my graphics for some odd reason.

If I had more free space I'd defo upgrade my card. Phyisical space, that is.

C++ is labourless... if your name starts with 'L' and ends with 'ee'.
