Wicked X Games - FPSC Version 118 - Compass thread

I have some time off work and wanted to do something for the community. I decided to see if a compass was doable. Searching the forum, I found only one ingame screenshot with a compass. I found Bibo4PC’s thread Compass Script Idea very helpful. With the inclusion of the internal variable system, it looked like it could be done without a mod. I give you the fruits of my labor.

Ingame Screenshot:

Extract the file into your FPSC folder. Open FPSC and add new entity. The compass is located in the WXG folder. Walla, you have a compass.

Compass script credit goes to Bibo4PC

Now that the framework has been built. I would like to see your compass's.

Thanks.

Looks cool, here's what I came up with, I think I'll add North, East, South, and West to it, and maybe a circle.

Thanks

Thanks guys and your welcome. Nice compass VENT. I wouldn’t change a thing. But I don’t have much artistic talent. Lol

KeithC: Thank you for your kind words and the guard shack. I like that model of the month idea. If someone could figure out a way to pull that off, it’ll be cool. Maybe a collaborated effort where only the models appear in the thread. Well, just a thought.

Thanks again.

Here's mine for you all. Warning it does have some bugs. Meaning the the needle sometimes vanishes, but for those that can script better could take it apart and stop that from happening. Enjoy!

Edit:This compass has an animated background. Video included to show the animations.

...very nice SteamPunk treatment.

Upon looking at the script, replacing TIMER with ETIMER might improve
functionality, and prevent conflict issues.

Just a thought...

Thank you, starmind 001. Really like the animation. Great compass! Here’s a screenshot using your compass.

Attached is my modified script for everyone. I don’t use Project Blue so don’t know how it looked in PB. But the needle didn’t center on the wheel. So I just relocated the needle, used ETIMER as Seth Black suggested and cleaned it up just a little.

Beautiful piece of work.

Thank you.

Glad to see you have it working!

It was something that I thought Smallfish might like when I was helping him with pom3, but it never was made until I saw this post and thought I would like to push the scripting alittle more and make a simple thing look complex.
