If you really want to create games you should do your best to fully understand every aspect of it.

Which means you should be at least be able to do your own textures, huds, menus and scripts. Otherwise you'll never produce something interesting.

Night Vision is not that hard to pull off AND there are indeed threads covering that topic.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

If I were doing this I might open the stock flashlight, and maybe save it as night vision and then play around with the ambient color and brightness settings. Try that first.

Or perhaps use a full-screen shader

the full screen shader would work perfect if you had it on constant and you could create a script with ambience and fog settings to create the effect, the only problem with full screen shaders is it will cause havoc without the night vision on as it affects the game throughout the entire runtime, I think there was mention between Bond and Lee regarding changing shaders at Runtime but I haven't heard anything else of it yet!

Well I plan on making a Night Vision script, the only problem with most scripts though, is that they set the ambience to a certain intiger (alike a torch) instead of amplifying the current light. I hear light variables will be implemented into FPSC so I can make a script that replicates Night Vision better.
