Forget Fraps.
Download WeGame, it's FREE, and it's way way better than Fraps.

Expression Encoder is by far (IMO) the best free screen capture and video editing program.

Whatever you use, I recommend to capture a whole run through the level, load it into the free Movie Maker, and THERE cut out that single screen you want.

Sounds like a lot of work, but with a single filmed run through your level, you can later extract all (well, at least most) of the screens you'll ever need

PS: Personally I used WeGame / Movie Maker for my "Mad Zombie World" machinima.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I usually use Fraps, but I'm gonna try out Expression Encoder soon, turned out the entire Expression package was freely available for students. The Microsoft guys are pretty dang generous.
