Hello,

I have worked for the last 10 years as a sound designer at a state university in a VR/MR lab. I've done contracting work with several major game companies.

I'd be happy to help contribute to the FPSC community by providing custom sound effects to anyone that needs them.

Make me a list.

Cheers,

gun sounds is what i normally need

especially reload ones, to fit any EAi weapon, in particular though:

- g36c reload sound
- m9 reload sound

that would be great if you can do that!

Bootlicker, I will look in those. Might be a bit harder for me to get certain sounds (like specific guns) as whatever I provide needs to be 100% original content (i.e. I can't mix in sound effects from existing libraries without copyright infringement). However, lemme see what I can do.

VWD, can you give me some more details? I realize I should probably know what HQ player means but I don't.

I can do voice overs too if you'd like (with or without CB radio noise etc.)

Any ambient backdrops, environmental sounds, monster noises, etc?

Cheers,

Thanks for your reply srealist.

HQ is High Quality. I am looking for better hurt, jump, walking, etc. The stock sounds are really marginal and take away alot from the game experience. With all these great models and room packs that are coming out now (Bond1 and Errant AI just to name a few...WOW), I strongly feel you can make a very professional looking game. But as we all know as avid gamers, sound and music is critical to engulf the player. Anything you can do would be appreciated. I hope others can utilize your sounds/work as well.

Thanks again.

A horror soundefx pack would be nice; and since four out of five games on the WIP board are horror games anyway, it would certainly be put to good use by the community. Just generic sounds for a horror game such as;

-Rusty swing blowing in the wind

-Wheelchair creaking down a hallway

-Wooden floorboards creaking as if something's walking around the corner.

-Old wooden/metal doors creaking/slamming.

-Chains dragging on the floor.

-Water dripping from pipes.

-Various metal slams and drops with an echo as if dropped from down the hallway.

-Meat chopping sounds as if something is hacking away on a corpse.

-So on and so forth.

Googling for "free sound effects" usually helps.

I'm outta town through Saturday 3/12, but will start work on 'em next week. Should I package them and post them here or what's the protocol?

Also, what format would you all prefer? Stereo or Mono? I would assume uncompressed 16bit/44k .wav files, though I will follow the consensus on this.

Tampa's a cool place. I've played a few shows at New World Brewery in Ybor. I've also spent some time in some of your world famous...um...gentlemen's clubs.

srealist, if you're still after requests some TV/theater audience noises would be great; laughs, boos, cheers, appaulse, gasps, etc.

I think it would make the game feel more like a TV series and could completely change the way a game feels

Cool idea, Ched80!

I was planning to do some crowd-walla loops anyway. I will add some audience sounds as well.

Daniel, will do.

The Zoq2, yes. One of my biggest complaints about existing sound fx libraries (including the best selling ones like Sound Ideas) is about the wind sound effects. They typically sound like white noise with very little variation. Sometimes an actual recording of a sound does not translate to film or games. I will include several wind sound effects that I find more useful than those found in standard libraries.

Cheers,

Oh and everything that can be made loopable will be loopable. I will designate these with "_L_" in the naming conventions. For instance, "wind_mountain_L_01.wav"

If anyone would like to suggest a different naming convention or naming standard for the SFX, I am amendable to whatever the community agrees upon.

Thanks, Im been making a game in dark basic pro for well, it seems forever and makign sounds on ym pc is horrible, they all sound like child play even after I edit them. I think the L for loop is perfect.
