Here's a newbie/amateur programmer question.

Would it be possible to create an IM style program in DB Pro?

Even if it were private -- without looking up USERNAME, ID, and all from a server, IE meant to just run between friends with 56k/cable/etc. temporary internet connections.

Say just create a program to send messages, and files of unlimited size? (unlike current IM programs allow).

What commands would you use to go about it, if possible?

IanM wrote a CHAT program, it's in the codebase area of this site - as far as sending files, you can do that too, but it requires some programming on your part.
