so, how do i place diagonal doors. Segments only allow 4 directions.
Entity doors wont create the hole through the wall so theyr just a decoration.

Like when i place diagonal wall and want a door through it. IS there anythign that would let me use segments at angles?

...totally can be done.

You will need to create a custom door and punch to accomplish this, though.

Hmm... or make a copy of the door you want and find the values to rotate it 45 degrees for the door, doorframe, doorpunch.

i could be wrong, i think its value X or Z.

...perhaps, but chances are good that it might not provide the proper result
unless one is adept at tweaking the .fps script for this purpose.

...you're creating a segment, which uses an .fps file.

The .fpi file simply controls its main functions, during gameplay.

I did some investigating last night on this matter. Here are my results. FPSC can’t use an overlay segment (door, window) to cut though another overlay segment (wall, diagonal wall). I may be wrong here, but this is the conclusion I’ve got. You need to pre-cut the CSG from the diagonal wall and save the mesh. Then using FPSC Segment Editor, create a diagonal wall with the door frame and door entity included. Well, that’s how I did it anyway. Attached are the files.

You do realize that picture could be a simple illusion? The door is placed normally, but walls are 45 degrees turned.

That is why I include the files.

...good workaround.

That door appears to be an incorporated doorway.

It's not a functional door entity, is it?

Thanks Seth,

It took a little work. But once I figured out that FPSC couldn’t cut through an overlay segment it was just a matter of finding what FPSC could handle.

The bottom line here is FPSC cannot cut through an overlay segment. Since to my knowledge, a diagonal wall needs to be an overlay segment. Otherwise it would screw up the room it is placed in. Therefore no.

Edit: On second thought this may also work if you made a room segment and made one of the walls diagonal.
