Is there any way to edit dds files. I can't seem to open them at all.

You need a photoshop program, I think that paint.net can handle dds files, but there was a DDS Converter what were able to convert dds files to any other and then back. You must google it yourself.

...IrfanView is fantastic for viewing .dds and several other formats.

A simple Google search, and you can DL within seconds.

You can also open them with GIMP. just google GIMP DDS Plugin.

GIMP Is in my eyes, the best freeware image editor. and it handles .dds quite well once you have the plugin.

I PLAY JAZZ!
i know, i'm a very problemed child...

Not only that, but GIMP can use photo shop brushes as well as open up Photo shop files, i have tried and have had success.
