Hi, I first bought darkbasic pro a few years ago. I found it too hard and left it until I was older. I have been using Darkbasic for a month now, and I was just wandering how I'd go about coding a 2d game. I already know about variables, ifs, loops and some very basic 3d programming (ie cube). Please help.

Have a look at the tutorials thread - there are several examples in there of writing complete games.

OT: you may want to ask a mod to change your username as it currently gives a very good idea of your age

What's with the age thing? Yeah, who cares. Therefore it is just as dumb to be hidden by mods...

AND this is not quite true, because there were occasions before when i suspect some 8 year olds made the pro members a bit upset here and there... If it would have been visible, maybe they just left the guy alone.

Anyways,

i would suggest that you should make some easy spaceshooter style thingy with simple sprites, because it's collision detection topic is maybe the least complex of them all. Figure out how to move around with a ship in empty space, then how to shoot a bullet or anything, then how to have randomly going around enemies, and then how to cycle trough them to detect if a bullet hit any of those.

This sounds like a perfect little starting project which you can later expand both your creativity and knowledge from.
