I used particles for that, once my computer loads I'll upload the settings.(I'm using my PS3 right now)

[Double Post]

I'm having a bit of trouble with Vishnu packer.
When it is loading the game files it freezes when it's nearly done and an error message pops up saying
Quote: "Error: The internal structure of the zip is invalid"

See attached.

This feels like a very nice project. I'm looking forward to see some true doom lock'n load action .

Get some inspiration from this project airslide was once back in the good times developing. Sadly the download has died.

Good luck with this, and i cant wait to play it!

I remember seeing that once
It looked interesting.

I think I might continue making more doom remakes once this is done(not the whole game, just a few levels).

[edit] does anyone know of any good modeling programs that can import .x files? Fragnotion will not let me do anything.

And also, I'm trying to build a new version and I gets suck on

can anyone help?

I've attached a image of a sweet effect I made using Evolved's awesome Vertex Fur shader

FINALLY!!!!!!!
Version 1.025 has been successfully uploaded, after countless attempts!
I found out what made the game file so large and fixed it (The credit video was massive) it also uses Vishnu with makes it even smaller!
You can download it from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IV1DSDAV

@Gibba gobba: it's like that by default in the TF341 pack.
For the store version, you could try setting the single handed animations (for dual wield, I think) to the normal animations.

Here's something about the game:
It had a very Doom-ish atmosphere going on, it looks really good and plays quite fun... until the lag strikes. Everytime an enemy (except the first bunch of enemies near the barrels) there's some lag for some time, but it goes away. Until, what I think was the finale, when you go up the elevator and there's these two big creatures in this tube looking things. That's where the game went unplayable. The lag was enormous and it went from a game into a slideshow. Everything before that was really cool (except the little amount of lag I got from the enemies).
I loved the menu-, loading-, pause- and game over screens (I couldn't get to the win screen). And I'd like to know a few things, if you could be kind enough to tell:
-How did you disable jumping? If you said that somewhere already, then sorry, I must have missed it. Thanks.

I can't give any final verdict, becouse the game went unplayable very fast, but if you'd like to know what I'd give it know, it would be somewhere 4-5 out of 10, becouse of the reasons I told about a thousand times.

The huge performance drop was probably the particles (In the pentagram room I used quite a lot).
To turn them off, open the setup.ini and set 'disableparticles=0' to 1. I have not tested that yet but it might work.
(My laptop is not very good, so the game runs at 10-20fps and I notice that the particles drop my fps to 5-7fps.)
[edit]I just tested it, it works

To disable jumping I just rebound jump to a key other than space (I used /). It works because of a bug which means you can't bind any key other than the space bar to jump.

PS. I'm having trouble building a new version (it finally fixes the AI and other things), it gets to the final stage of light mapping (finishing threads) and freezes. I have not changed the lighting or the light map quality so I don't see why this is happening.

Thanks, I'll go do that

So that's the answer... I always thought there's some complicated coding and scripting and time travelling involved, but who knew... the answer was this simple.

@gendestroier no, I think my E1M8 is nothing new. But I might try doing a showcase of a directional shadow trick I found a couple of months back.

Does anyone know how to fix the freeze at 'Waiting for threads to finish' part of lightmapping? I looked it up and apparently it has something to do with entities.

Partially. I think you should try lowering your lightmaps and then rebuilding to see if anything changes.
Also, come entities have been known to do that for me. Just backtrack and remove some entities you placed before the error.

This is really why you should save often, ofr just in case if this stuff was to happen; you can easily revert back and not lose
1-2+ hours of progress trying to find the issue.

I've notice that your FPS is always at 10-20(sometimes 23). How do you even play it?

Cheers.

@2Beastmode4u
Yeah, my laptop doesn't like shaders much and drops the FPS alot. Without shaders it runs quite well, but I keep them on.

I forgot to ask, would the entity causing the problem usually be static or dynamic?
