Hey everybody,

I've made some good progress on my project and I'm at a point that I wish to experiment with multiplayer. I did some research and I've got several plugins and addons (including DarkNET).

Now I kinda thought I've outgrown the newcomers corner by now but I must be asking something very n00bish because I haven't been able to find any topics on this but I can't seem to get the multiplayer example (native DB pro code) to work. I'm pretty sure I need to open some ports on my router but what ports does DB pro needs? If it even needs specific ports...

Thanks ahead!

Edit:
Well, I can get the compiled .exe to work just fine but I cannot seem to make a connection when I run it on the other computers on my network.

Ok, I've got it to make connection within my router. No ports forwarding was needed.

Though, it probably does need port-forwarding when trying to connect with a PC outside of my own network. Like I said, I know how to access my router and all, but what settings does DB-pro require?

Thanks!

DBPro uses DirectPlay (which is now deprecated by Microsoft, which is why it's difficult to find information on it now).

Anyway, I believe the ports required are UDP 2300-2400 and 6073.

I don't believe that any TCP ports are involved any more, but a simple 'netstat -an' should tell you if your program is listening on any TCP ports.
