FPSC Classic Scripts / Possible? AI or Compounded Character... Infantry Movement Formations?

Is is possible to script the AI of a character to specifically position itself with a referrence to the player?

and / or

Create a compounded character consisting of multiple characters, say starting off with three characters, using the new bone and hit detection? Compound character consisting of three characters connected using bones?

and / or a system comparable to way points that would connect individial charcter movement to one another?

All to accomplish standard Infantry Movement Formations, where in characters will keep themselves positioned where you want them to be in relation to where the player is?
