I bet TGC will announce the soonest release data when they'll know it.

Looks like the natives are getting restless

I am sure when the 100th Newsletter comes out you will find out more.

As I said in another thread, I would prefer they get this right with as little bugs as possible as we have seen what has happened in the past by launching a product too early.

If that takes a month or two then that is fine by me.

I just cant wait!!!
But I will restrain myself while they iron out as many bugs as possible, as I hate it when companies release buggy products.

Maybe we'll see an Early Adopter version around June, with a full version a few months later.

At least that is what I read in an article about the AGK. (the link was on TGC's FaceBook page)

That gives us plenty of time to work on sprites or other graphics for our projects while we are waiting.

That sounds like they are just going to make one release instead of the two. I know the article says two, but if you are working on it that late then you might as well combine all platforms into one release.

I seem to remember Dark Basic Pro having about 12 months of delays at the time it was very late, and bugged . Early 2010 to me means anytime up to March. Later than that and were really starting to talk mid or late 2010, and we are in late April now. It isn't much of a surprise that it is late, and really the best bet is to stop thinking about it and worry when it is released so to speak. TGC should really not announce these things so early, any more than 3 or 4 months wait and people tend to lose interest.
I'm guessing they may announce something in the next newsletter, but it may be months away yet of course.

Me too.

I doubt it.
This is too good to loose interest that fast.
The Smart Phone Technology is rapidly advancing, so the sooner the better, but this will have to be an evolving beast anyway to keep up.

It will take however long it takes, and it will be worth the wait.
I just hope they know I want to be an Early Adopter dude.

Cheers to Lee & TGC!

Well, if we find they have variable arrays inside types when it's released it's *probably* my fault.

Conjured Entertainment, I think to be honest a few peeps have already been lost, I have seen posts by people who have already moved to an existing system because they were tired of waiting. It will be the peeps who prefer DB and don't really want to learn a new language that will stick around. However if TGC hadn't announced it last year and waited a while longer, those people may not of even thought about cross platform apps in the first place, and would probably have purchased app game kit. However a 12 month waiting period is too long for a product that has several competitors already ( yes I know it hasn't been 12 months, but it is looking increasingly likely). Game kit is not Duke Nukem, and cannot maintain interest beyond a certain time point. I am still interested my self as I love DB, but some will move on. I am just saying TGC seem to shoot themselves in the foot with this sort of thing regularly, announcing things just too soon and allowing the interest to cool a little by the time the product has been released! Perhaps it's just the urge to show off the latest project is too strong for Mr. Bamber! I can understand that lol, but the marketing, (Mr. Vanner I believe.) should have more sense ;p.
Roll on the release!

That is fine, let them use something else.

It's not like the entire world stops since
it's been delayed a bit.

Anyone know has done any kind of development
knows that some times it takes longer to get quality.

Quality is what I care about most. More damage will
have been done if the product ships with thousands
of bugs and people will say why wasn't this tested.

I would rather them get it right out of the gate than
having to spend months and months with tons of bug
fixes because it was rushed out and it was unpolished.

Good things of quality take time to produce and it's
no where near 12 months. I will have to look back
but the first time I read about AppGameKit was December 1st
of last year (in the December Newsletter).

So that was the first of December of 2010 and it's
being released 7 or 8 months later.

I know it hasn't been 12 months yet, I do mention that in the post . I am merely pointing out early 2011 has come and gone and they were jumping the gun when they ANNOUNCED AGK. TGC know how difficult getting a product out is, and should know very well there will be unexpected delays. It was announced too early in my opinion. If it is launched before September this year I will be surprised (and delighted).
Like I said in my first post on here, best bet is to carry on with DB, not worrying about it. When it is released it is released. Time goes slower when you are waiting on something
This is my last post about this lol. Bad release schedules are a pet hate of mine and just annoy me, lots of software houses do it, software development is a cranky fellow sometimes. I would prefer the famous "Its done when its done" in the main, rather than actually giving a date and constantly pushing that date ahead. Scottie had the right idea, work out how long you think it will take then double it and tell em that. Then you can surprise them by releasing early! lol

I really glad to know that it is released it. That sounds like they are just going to make one release instead of the two. I hope it will released soon.
