Recently started working on this again after a long break.
This video shows the new trees added into the engine. The foliage mimics the old speedtree technology by using billboards facing the player.

Hi Quel I had the LoD turned way up for the video so it was rendering every scene object but this is all completely scaleable so you can turn the view distance down for older machines.
Progress at the minute is focused on adding the actors into locations and giving them something to do.

Update 25/05/2011

Cairlyn village is populated! Villagers have been added in with pleasing results, there has been very little slow down in the engine even with the AI added. They are all making their own decisions regarding location and avoiding all scene obstacles. Getting to the fun part next, combat.

Do something with the dull sky texture, because this way it looks very artificial. And i most importantly mean the high contrasted change from ground to sky, this is just not the case in real life. Put something there, far away mountains whatever.

@ Quel

Yes I agree the horizon looks rather sparse im currently adding far away mountains to the engine.

@ Matty

Thanks I am currently adding in your Dark Imposters plugin to boost the draw distance should have something to show on that quite soon.

@ Gunslinger

I disagree I thought the bloom was quite subtle but it is completely scalable in the options so you can reduce to your taste.

Great, I look forward to seeing what you come up with

Alot of people seem very negative about bloom, maybe people have over-used it in the past. I think it can be an exellent effect and I certainly don't think it is over done in this game.

Reminds me of Oblivion... Great work on doing this with DBPro! Will talking to characters be added in?

Cheers.

God help me, Please.

@ 2Beastmode4u

Thanks, there will be dialogue between the various NPCs in the game, at this minute im not sure if that will be voice acted or text. I would like it to be voice acted although I need to wait and see how much work that would be.
