Hi and welcome to the forums. A good place to start is by aquiring DBPro, if you have a copy, free or full version, then skip this next bit.
To get your hands on DBPro, simply download the free version
here or purchase the full version.
Once you have DBPro up and running you should take the time to read through this set of
tutorials. Remember, you don't have to go through all of them, the first 3 should get you started. Also skim though tutorial 18, this explains one of the poorest programming styles.
The best way that I've learnt to progam is to just keep programming. It's best to start with small things such as remakes of the old arcade games space invaders, asteroids etc. Don't try anything large such as an RPG as your first project, it will become too hard.
