Hello,
I am new to DarkBASIC but not new to BASIC since I started programming in qbasic. I'm doing a Social Studies school project in which I want a program to animate a train moving across a map of the US along a historic RR line, but I have run into trouble with masking the background color on my animated train gif. Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Juvy

I thought you couldn't use GIFs in DBP

I'm sorry, I should've added what software I'm using.... here we go:
DarkBASIC v1.12 Enhanced, fresh out of the case. I loaded with

and it plays fine.

[Edit]Oops, going to upgrade to 1.13 soon.

Ok, upgraded to 1.13.
I am using a gif for my train that shows smoke blowing out the stack, and its wheels turning. Is it possible to load this gif an image or animation and then draw it with sprite so I can use the sprite manipulation commands like set sprite for masking the background?

Thanks for your help

sorry for bumping,
I am looking at my last post and it looks confusing to me so I'll rephrase everything so ignorant ones like me can understand it

I can resize and manipulate my animated gif using the animation commands in DarkBASIC Classic ok. I am wondering if there is any way to mask the background of my animation like the optional parameter in LOAD IMAGE File$, ImageNum, OptionalMaskParam. I don't care what method, I just need to get it done.

Thank you,
