although this might seem dumb, i am unsure how to make darkbasic use sparkys. Even when i run the demos, it isnt interfacing with sparkys. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

In what way to you mean it's not interfacing with Sparky's?

By not interfacing, i mean when I click compile and run or f5, the sparkys commands wont compile. It says error for all sparkys commands

The Sparky's DLL should be in the DBPro\Compiler\Plugins-user directory.

The ini file should be in the DBPro\Editor\Keywords directory.

Then restart your editor. Then it should work.

Have you tried rebuilding the keywords in your editor?

Odd that it's being picked up as a keyword but not compiling...

That usually happens when the DLL is in the wrong place.

The DLL is called SC_Collision.dll, and should be in your DBPro\Compiler\Plugins-user directory.

It's only a waste if we didn't all learn something.

haha, and i did. A valuable lesson and what to do. I have another question for anyone who can answer, if i set it to write to a file, where is that file at. Is it saved somewhere in temporary files? And is there a way to make it save to a file that i can actually look at and see (just a boring notepad text file), and that will stay with all the values even if i open and close my program.

The default directory for anything in a DBPro program is the program's main directory where you run the exe from. So if you create a file without specifying a directory, it will be there.

It's a free 3D collision detection plugin. It works much quicker and more accurately than the native DBP commands and I thoroughly recomend it to anyone doing 3D games in DBP:
Sparky's collision dll
