My recent tweak included a second dynamic light which controls the level ambient light. Basically, it keeps track of the ambient light for whatever level you're game is on based on activated variables. This way, the flashlight (when switched on/off) will return to normal ambient levels by interacting with the activated variable in the "ambient_control" entity. I'm about done with this extra addition, so if it's something you want/need please let me know.

hello guys i need help with this flashlight as i never got the new script that was made and when i turn my flashlight off and on the ambient light changes can somebody please help me?

You don't need the new script, all you do is look for the lines in the 'flashlight' script that say 'ambience=0', then change the number to match your ambience settings in the game build settings' global script.

i cannot get the flashlight to work in update 1.18 i followed all the instruction as posted. and when i would try to turn on the flash light nothing would happen? i didnt even get to the global script settings yet because the flashlight wouldnt turn on. also it says you need a pick up system in order to pick up the battery entities so i added the enter weapon pick up script and i was able to pick the batterys up but the flash light would not turn on at all? any ideah why it will not turn on?

I've attached a simple .fpm file, using all stock segments/entities for you to have a look at and play around with. Everything works as it should, with the scripts all associated with the right objects and in the right folders.

The only thing is, that since I last took a look at this, when the flashlight is turned on, the area around the lit up circle, doesn't match my ambience settings

Strange, it worked perfectly when I first tried it out!

Anyway, apart from that it all works fine. Hope this at least partly helps you.

Meanwhile, I'm going to take a look at the ambience issue, see if I can get it working again!
