So what exactly is Pristontale?

well your caught in a world between 2 tribes of people, the ‘Morion’ who rely on magic and soul and the 'Tempskron’ who use thier power and technology.
Although they had a fragile relationship, both tribes generally got along with petty disputes here and there yet nothing serious.
One day little problems and strange things started happening on the island they both live on, and so investigation teams were sent out.
The more they uncovered about the strange happenings the more ruins they discovered oncovering a prophecy from the ancients of that world. When its realised that the prophecy was speaking on the strang happeneings it suddenly became a whole new creepy world. And now a new Evil Species is set too appear when all the signs of the prophecy come to light.
With the imminant possibility of the evil ones rising again, it caused mass panic in Priston and now the world is covered in Chaos ... from this there must be a champion who can rise up and rally the people to defeat this evil and seal it away forever.

(pretty cool and very animé storyline )
what is left is actually a pretty cool and awesome new online MMORPG that takes alot of elements from other games in the genre to give people a pretty awesome online experience

The world is insanely large, and the range of characters and abilities are pretty awesome ... and the best part is they're growing as soon as they come up with something new, which means if you don't play for a week your guarenteed to have something new to come back to.
even better is the fact of the interative abilities, the game is a far more interactive title character wise than ALOT of RPGs which makes it far more of a community game than anything else.

The game looks quite simply drop dead gorgeous for the specs it can run on comfortably, even lower end systems will be able to run this with ease... just for everyones pleasure a free screenshots.

i'll put some more up later

Looks quite simply drop dead anime if you ask me (the opposite of gorgeous in my book...)

If you can look past a dated graphics engine and appreciate powerful gameplay, excellent community, and unique roleplaying, you might want to try Meridian 59 .

Oh heaven forbid...

Why is it that so many people think anime is crap? Have these poor souls never seen Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, Chobits, or Lain? Must poorly translated, heavily censored, WB quality anime be the be-all-end-all of anime? I sugest to those that do think that way to watch the animes I list above, UNEDITED and in their original language, before passing judgement on the genra.

Very few people think anime is crap. The general opinion is that it's brilliant (it comes from Japan, which it's currently popular to worship because they generally don't mind publishing and advertizing things that wouldn't be allowed/considered over here. Anime is a good example of that-- most of it is aimed at teenagers in Japan, while over in the US it is considered adult content merely because of the 'adult' material). Teenagers all over the US love it. Adults generally dislike it considerably more however... I wonder why.

I have seen plenty of anime in shows, images, and magazines, and my opinion remains that it is

A) Ugly
B) Annoying
C) A stupid fad

And that's not going to change.

If someone told me he disliked western cinema, and he'd seen a good number of western culture movies, I'd accept his opinion for what it was. He's perfectly entitled to disliking it even if he hasn't seen The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Casablanca and Gone with the Wind fifteen times without subtitles.

well thats your opinion, considering this title has very Animé roots ... it actually makes the game.

and ACTUALLY there are very very few animé looking titles,
Oni - Final Fantasy - Grandia - Fantasy Star Online

these are the titles i can think of offhand ... there's like only 30 maybe 40 out of a market of thousands in the western market that i can think of that use animé in 3D.

personally i hated each of those movies, hollywood at its worst... or best depends how you look at it i suppose.

-- -- --

quite frankly put the graphics are great for the specs, and just because you don't like animé graphics doesn't mean that its a bad game ... nor does it mean that it is one of "oooh so many" titles that have these style of graphics because that just bull and you know it.

the only 2 western companies to ever do animé style graphics in computer games have been Blizzard and Bungie - between them they've done 5 titles ... all the rest come from japan/korea/china and we get very very few comming over here.

I could sit here and bitch about how everyone atm is using Cell Shading - because to me it seems like it as it is used so poorly ... but the fact of the matter again is that it is just standing out to me and there aren't all that many games with that style of graphics, again its a pure matter of a handful.

If you don't like the subject, then quite frankly don't comment - it's that simple.

The Graphics are SUPPOSE to be animé, else it wouldn't fit the story ... for the power of the system it uses the graphics are bloody good ... and also the game is FREE
So its not like you even have to pay for these graphics!

Priston tale was posted here before Raven

I downloaded it and installed it. I could never connect to the server. Website said if you got that error, contact tech support. Contacted tech support. Twice. No response. Uninstalled the game.

'depends how you look at it i suppose.'

I was listing them by fame and popularity-- most of those are hailed as classics. In the cases of The Godfather and GWTW I disagree, but I was coming at the topic from a different direction .

i've not seen it posted here before ... done a search and get no results - are you sure it was here?

as for server i've not had a problem connecting
and whatever direction you were comming at the topic with, if you don't like the look of the game or the genre then WHY POST?

its not hard, there are screenshots i posted ... there was a description - i even noticed it was in typical animé style.
and you still posted about how you don't like that style of game.

no one forced you to post, and i'm getting sick of the spam on these boards - i'm getting less and less time to check them to scan through tonnes of bildge left because people just posting for the sheer heck of it. If the game doesn't look like your cup of tea then fine, i don't care ... no one else cares ... only you care.
There isn't a point in making a post stating that you don't like the look of it.

all that does is cause aggrovation and waste peoples time.
