Is there a variable for player lives?
I know there's one for Player Health called $PH.
Is there one for lives?

Well, I would look in Ched's Complete Syntax List(if you downloaad it, go to near the last page and there should be a list of all the internal variables), but I don't have it at this PC, but even if there isn't an internal varialble you could still easily script it.
