Hi,

I am a bit stuck, i have searched all over the place and i can't find anything to help so far.

I really want to have a video play in just the top corner of the screen instead of taking up full screen. I thought this might be possible by editing the 'video.fpi' and changing the X and Y figures, but, i can't find this, I assume that it doesn't exist.

Any help or guidance with this will be amazing. I'm not asking for someone to do it for me, just a gentle shove in the right direction would be a great help.

I don't think that it is currently possible to make a video in only a certain area of a screen, but with all the recent additions I could be wrong, but I still have doubts...

@hamburger, thanks, I didn't think it would be possible to be honest. Just thought it would be nice to have a small clip play at certain points as though someone is talking to you via telecom.

@maho76 that would be a ridiculous amount of artwork, nevermind the scripting! Hhaha, but, it is actually an option at the moment. Is it possible to get that many huds to show at that rate?

It wouldn't be that much artwork just make ya vid then cut it up into frames, the script would need a bit of work and don't forget the limit of the script as well.

I'm not amazing at scripting.........well, i can't do it. But, i like to look at other peoples scripts and try to figure out what all the different bits mean. I have tried to add a few bits before and i think i broke it....

"and don't forget the limit of the script"

Whats the limit(s) of script?

After thinking about this, i think the idea of having a number of hud images show might not be a bad thing.

How many images can i get per second?

scriptlimit: 350 lines for 1.17/1.18 versions. that are some seconds, even when you choose only 16-18 frames per second.

its not that hard to do, but you have to rewrite the pictures adresses for every snippet. if you can get a programm that automatically search and exchange text passages and copy linenumbered sources, you can automate that, but i dont know if that is possible. then you would have simply to build up a scriptmask and can automatically exchange the picture-adresses.
future-thinking.

artwork, as said, is not the prob. nearly every video-prog can export as an image-line.

but at the moment its copypastecopypastecopypastecopypastecopypaste....^^

i think you want it as an implanted HUD or something like that? think of the near future (will come for sure):

augmented reality for advertisement. (watch minority-report for example, great look into the possible near-future techniques)

then you can simply place video-overlays on the enviroment where you need the communication, triggered with zones.

"easiest" one (lol) is to insert storyzone-triggered short videobreaks.
