I was trying to find some tutorials on GDK and to be honest there is not very many to choose from. I was wondering if I found some dark basic pro ones can I use it with GDK? If so is there anything else I would have to do to the code for GDK or would this not work?

Mostly yes. That's if you look at something like 'MAKE OBJECT SPHERE ObjID, SIZE', in GDK you would just simply convert it to 'dbMakeObjectSphere(ObjID,Size);'.

Functions are only slightly different too in GDK, but when you get the hang of the change between Basic and C++ you pick it up easily enough.

There are a lot of plugins available for DBPro that you would have to do yourself in GDK but C++ has all you need for that anyway.

EDIT: Only when it comes to splitting up your source files it can at first become confusing but the general C++ tutorials will more than suffice to help you understand that part.

really, with DarkGDK, the problem isn't learning the GDK, the problem is with learning C++. C++ is a really hard language, and it's really hard to learn! DBPro tutorials would help you learn DBPro functions, but they wouldn't help you tackle the problem of learning C++. Learning what some DBPro functions do is way easier than learning C++.

So... i'm guessing you're not all that great at c++. If that's true, then no amount of DBPro lessons will make you better at GDK.
